No generic scripts. No standard template.
Every ceremony is created individually around your story, your dynamic as a couple and the atmosphere you want to create for yourselves and your guests.
I take time to get to know you properly and shape a ceremony that feels natural in both language and emotion. Particularly in bilingual weddings, I pay close attention to how English and German flow together throughout the ceremony, so that neither language feels secondary or simply translated.
My aim is always to create a ceremony that feels calm, authentic and emotionally connected — one in which all your guests can genuinely follow, engage and feel included, regardless of which language they speak.
If you’d like a clearer overview of how the process works — including ceremony structure, practical details, legal differences and what it’s like to work together — you can find more information on the Journey & FAQ page.

A ceremony that feels natural, personal and emotionally true
Calm, personal and professionally led ceremonies
For over six years, I’ve been working with German-speaking, bilingual and international couples getting married in Scotland and across the United Kingdom.
Many of the couples I work with are building their lives between languages, cultures or countries. My role is to create a ceremony in which all of those parts can naturally coexist — without anyone feeling like an outsider in the story being told.
I conduct:
bilingual wedding ceremonies in English & German
ceremonies for international and intercultural couples
symbolic and celebrant-led weddings across the UK
legally binding weddings in Scotland
Whether your celebration is intimate or larger in scale, traditional or relaxed, your ceremony should feel like a meaningful part of the day — not simply another item on the schedule.
"Monika tailored our bilingual ceremony in Scotland perfectly to us. Every nuance of our story came through, and our guests felt included from the very beginning."
— Ellie & Steven

"Absolutely recommendable! Monika officiated our German-language wedding ceremony in Edinburgh, and we were completely thrilled. From our initial communication via email to the wedding itself, we felt incredibly well taken care of by Monika.
With her wedding speech, she managed to capture the perfect blend of funny stories, anecdotes, and a whole lot of emotion. Our guests also had nothing but praise for the ceremony, which was perfectly tailored to us and our wishes."
— Franziska & Joshua

Here you’ll find a selection of German-speaking and bilingual weddings I’ve had the privilege to conduct over the years — many of them in Scotland, where I’ve been based for over two decades.
These stories offer a glimpse into the many different ways international and bilingual ceremonies can look and feel: intimate or larger celebrations, outdoor ceremonies or elegant venues, quiet moments or joyful gatherings of family and friends.
